Original Ad

This was a group project I worked on with Nate Bone, and Marcus Polk. Apollo Johnson was also part of this project, but only as an actor, and he did a separate project from ours. Nate's part was acting and helping gather sound effects for the video. Marcus's part was getting the shots done and filming. My part was composing the video all together with post production. Our intention was to take an advertisement that is heavily based on gender stereotypes, and we decided to switch the gender roles. The original ad had to do with a woman removing the fat from her body and becoming slimmer and growing boobs. We did the same with our version, except we removed the fat to gain strength and muscle.

5x5 Video Project

This was my first time working with an actual storyboard in a professional like setting. I had to create a short film that contained 5 different scenes that were all 5 seconds long. I've never worked with Premiere before but I feel like I got a pretty neat outcome out of this. My filming was a little rushed but it all worked out somehow. I feel like I could've come up with a more entertaining story, but for the sake of this project, I thought it would be fun to start with something like this.

Before and After

Doing this project was an absolute blast. It gave me all the freedom that I needed to be able to create several more visually aesthetic photographs. You can find a theme with this project after one edit, so if you don't know how you want the photo to turn out, mess with the picture and see what you can come up with.

Commercial Culture

What would Portland look like without any advertisements? No billboards, posters, logos, all sorts of stuff? It really isn't that recognizeable, considering that I am a city guy at heart. I spent a long time trying to find good places with enough advertisements that I would be able to photoshop in my skill level. I wasn't able to find too many, nor were the results absolutely fantastic, but I'm happy with this project and how it turned out.

STILL LIFE

I wasn't sure what I was going for when I first started this project. I was sitting at my desk thinking of things to capture, and I couldn't stop noticing the pin on my desk. Then I had the idea of darkness, so I settled on the Themed topic, which in this case was Death. I wanted to create something simple but powerful, and this was my outcome.

ONE IN 1700

My intention with this project was to show others (More specifically strangers) a side of myself that I don't normally show. I like to think of myself as something unknown, or mysterious, someone that's curious of their surroundings, and exists where a lot of people don't know it. I'm hoping this project can shed some light on it to the viewers.
